Mountain Bikes to Overcome the Rough Terrain

!: Mountain Bikes to Overcome the Rough Terrain

Biking, either competitive or recreational biking is one of the most popular activity in America and Europe right now. Thanks to Greg LeMond and Lance Armstrong, the two grand slam American winners of Tour de France, the most sought after cycling event in the world. These two really helped to raise the popularity of the sport.

Mountain biking is a sport that has been around for decades now, but because of the continuous call for global warming awareness more and more people get into this sport. What is good about mountain bike and its sport is that it fits to peoples' choice for more efficient economical and environmental friendly activity.

You may have seen in many TV channels where bikers race and maneuver their way to dirt trails and jump through ramps and find it cool but yet get frustrated because you can not do or you do not want to do such thing. Stunt biking is just one aspect of mountain biking, what is more popular all over the country now is not doing dangerous stunts and jumping through ramps but biking as a form of recreational activity for the family.

Though today's high-tech technology led into the invention of much more powerful mountain bikes. But if you are just new to this sport, it is best to start with the most basic bike, of course it should still be well-made for your riding convenience.

You can visit your local bike shops for beginner bikes and upgrade the bike later. A decent bike should not cost you more than 0 though. You can also opt for second hand bike from your friend or anyone that wants to sell his or her decent bike.

You can also ask experienced bikers about brand of bike they are comfortable riding with when they were just starting.

After you have purchased a bike, you should then think of a place where you can ride it. You can ask local bikers for this or just surf the net about state parks and national forest areas in your local area. Plus, always consider watching biking tip videos for responsible riding.

Advantages of Mountain Bikes Over Regular Bicycles - What You Should Know About It

!: Advantages of Mountain Bikes Over Regular Bicycles - What You Should Know About It

Cycling has and will always be a great sport and a way to enjoy travelling. There are many people around the world who consider paddling to their destination a healthier and a better way than traveling on a fuel powered vehicle.

When we weigh the pros and cons of fuel powered mechanical transport against the two wheeled paddle powered ones there is no match as both have their own advantages and disadvantages with speed, safety, comfort, health effects and pollution. It is just a matter of personal preferences that some choose comfort and speed while some opt for health and environment friendly means of transportation.

When you choose a better way of life for yourself that is healthy and good for your surroundings, you choose to travel on a bike. This gives you health advantages as you get to exercise while you go to places where otherwise you would have reached in a car or a bus without any exercise.

There is a lot of variety in the two wheelers which have their own plus points and utilities. Out of the entire range of bikes, I prefer the mountain bikes because the advantages that they offer are far more than that offered by the regular bikes.

The mountain bikes are far more reliable and durable than any other version. They provide comfort to the user with its full suspension system and better road grip with its thicker and wider tires which never lets the biker slip even on the rainiest and slipperiest of tracks. The frames are made of alloys which are stronger and much lighter in weight than the conventional bicycle frames.

These advantages make the mountain bikes a better choice over the regular street bicycles even for riding around the streets of your town, if you are not interested in the hyper sport which involves the use of these bikes.

A Review of the Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Dual Suspension Mens Mountain Bike - Budget Brilliance?

!: A Review of the Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Dual Suspension Mens Mountain Bike - Budget Brilliance?

This is a review of the Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Dual Suspension mens mountain bike, a good and competent entry level all terrain mountain bike.

The marketplace for budget full suspension mountain bikes is fairly crowded at the price level that the Schwinn Protocol 1.0 is aimed at; it needs to be doing something good to compete. Well, the initial impression is that for the price, the specification is nigh on unbeatable. Sure there are cheaper fully sprung bikes but these are not to be compared to the likes of the Schwinn.

For an entry level ride - please don't confuse sub 0 full suspension bikes to be "proper all terrain bikes", the Schwinn Protocol has a kit list to make the competition weep , an aluminum frame, 24 speed Shimano quick shift, Suntour forks and a disk brake at the front, so all in all a very comprehensive specification.

So, what is it like to ride? Well, by chance I managed to get a Mongoose Status to compare it against - both bikes being aimed at the same market and price point, and it was apparent that both bikes are very capable performers both on the street and on the trail. An afternoon in the woods, both on trails and in the mud showed that the Protocol can mix it up safely and well, the lighter weight against the Mongoose being apparent, but not as noticeably as the stats sheet suggests.

A little assembly was required on delivery, adjustments required to the brakes to stop them binding, but in truth nothing that I haven't had to do on all of the bikes I have either owned or tested.

So, what is the overall verdict - tested for several days on lots of terrain where the bike may well typically find itself the bike's quality shone through. Not as light as the likes of a Trek or Marin, it certainly didn't disgrace itself. Tested back to back against one of its closest rivals in the Mongoose it genuinely comes down to what fits best and personal choice. If you are in the market for a cheap full suspension bike you can do a lot worse than invest in the Schwinn.

Why buy a used mountain bike when you can get one of these at a discount?
